Moreland City Council immunisation service will be visiting the Year 7 students at Penola College on Wednesday November 17 to give the final dose of the HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccine. In some cases where the Year 7 was absent at our first visit, their first dose along with their whooping cough booster will be given instead. We may also request to see any Year 8 who was absent previously and has not received the consented vaccine/s elsewhere. Please note that these vaccines will only be given to children whose families have previously consented.
Please be aware that previously the recommendation was that no vaccines are received within 7 days of any Covid-19 vaccine. This information was updated recently to say it is preferable to leave the 7 day gap, but not essential. If it is the case that a student has received a COVID-19 vaccine within the 7 days leading up to our visit, and you would prefer to have a 7 day gap between vaccines, please contact Moreland City Council Immunisation Service directly (not via the school) at cd-immunisation@moreland.vic.gov.au or on 9240 1111 and choose the option for Immunisation. Otherwise, the vaccine will be administered as consented.
Moreland City Council immunisation service does not have access to, and will not give the Covid-19 vaccine at these school visits.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at cd-immunisation@moreland.vic.gov.au or 92401111 and follow the prompts.
