Youth Ministry Update

Hello Penola Community! It’s Gil and James here, the College Youth Ministers.

The Faith and Mission Team at Penola has been working tirelessly build a sense of togetherness throughout the past few months of social distancing through a variety of initiatives. One new initiative that we’re leading is a weekly video series to build on the positivity of our College Community and remind us that we’re all in this together.

And we want you to be involved! Whether you’re a student, staff member, parent or even student teacher, please feel free to send us a photo or video of a positive experience you’ve had during isolation over the past few months or a hobby that’s helped you stay positive. If your submission is chosen, you’ll win a prize from the Faith and Mission Team! Send your photos and videos to gmein@penola.vic.edu.au.

The second way is to enter our weekly “Guess the Staff Member” Competition! Within the same community video, we’ll be hosting a weekly competition where you’ll have to identify as many PCC Staff Members as possible using their childhood photos! The student from each year level who correctly guesses the most staff members will win an UberEats voucher for your family (in the event of a tie, one name will be selected at random)!

So, submit your photos/videos gmein@penola.vic.edu.au and be watching from the 27th of July on MyPenola for your chances to win!!

For any questions, please feel free to contact us on gmein@penola.vic.edu.au.

Good luck and stay safe,
Gil and James, College Youth Ministers

What is the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data?

Schools must now complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) every year. It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or “help” at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disability.
