Our term three of science remote learning at the Glenroy campus has been anything but dull. We have had a number of competitions and incursions to keep our students thinking and connected.
The term began with the weekly competition “What in the world is that- Microscope images competition”, where for 5 weeks different everyday objects were photographed under a low powered microscope. Students from both campuses submitted guesses for a weekly prize, and an over all prize. The images and winners are below. We will post out certificates and prizes soon,
Well done to all students, who contributed over 130 guesses across the 5 weeks!
During science week we had daily quizzes, songs and other fun content in the student news and on STILE. Our winners were:
Daily Quiz winners were Alison Nguyen 8J, Krish Gupta 7B, Daniel Hakim 7G, Kiara Bruzzese 7B and Rishma Kumar 8K. Rishma was also the overall winner for the week. Congratulations to these students and all the students who entered our Science Week Quiz.
The Glenroy students were also involved in the Marine team experience, an online performance which was entertaining and educational, building student’s understanding of the importance of our ocean to sustain life on earth. Our year 7 students have also been involved in an online incursion with the Zoo, introducing ideas about the features of animals used in classification. Thanks to all science teachers and support staff who helped students access these incursions.
With remote learning continuing into term 4 for Glenroy campus students, we look forward to another online competition to start our term…We wonder what it will be 😊
