Languages Week is indeed an essential experience for all students undertaking French, Italian and Japanese, as it is a celebration of not only languages but also cultures and traditions around the world.

Due to Remote Learning, languages week was celebrated differently this term. For each language students were asked to engage in a variety of cultural activities.

Our Year 7 and 8 French students participated in the following activities; creating a football jersey, Bastille Day garland and decoration, making an A320 Airbus plane and recreating the French passport.

For Japanese, our Year 7 & 8 students took part in the following four competitions; Anime Drawing, Origami, Cooking and Hiragana Neat Writing.

Our Year 7 and 8 Italian students engaged in the following activities; Mask making for Carnevale, Dance it out Routine, Make a Fruity Gelato, Napkin Leaning Tower of Pisa, Rigatoni Italian Flag and learning about the history of Pizza.

Students could also win small prizes for their best work and they also participated in the Education Perfect Competition for each language. These prizes will be given out to students once we return to college.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated team of Language teachers and assistants for their hard work and commitment to provide our students with an excellent Languages Week program even during Remote Learning and also a huge ‘Thank You’ to all the parents and guardians who supported our students with the completion of some of these tasks.
