Dear parents, the term is moving at a rapid pace and the senior campus is getting ready for the final stages of 2019. Last week we had a fitting finale for our Year 12 students. The final college assembly for 2019 and Graduation Mass and ceremony were tributes to them as they enter their final stages of their enrolment at this school. We wish all Year 12s well; those sitting examinations at the current time, as well as those who seek other opportunities outside of study. We hope that they take with them some special memories of Penola Catholic College.
The rest of the senior campus are also preparing for the final stages of the year with final assessment tasks being completed and preparation for the upcoming exams being a priority in classes at the moment. Whilst the Year 12 exams are currently taking place, the commencement date of the Year 11 Exams is scheduled for November 13th; the Year 10s, November 14th and Year 9s November 18th. The full exam timetables for each of these year levels are attached to this newsletter.
Last weekend our elected student leaders for 2020 took part in the annual student leadership camp at Safety Beach near Dromana. Students were kept busy with a number of activities that highlighted the school’s expectations of them as leaders, as well as giving them an opportunity to get to know one another and starting to plan for the year ahead. We wish our student leaders well in their endeavours for 2020.
Parents are reminded that Monday 4th November is scheduled as a student free day as is the Melbourne Cup holiday on the following day.
Best wishes for the long weekend.
