Scholarships 2019

Penola Catholic College endeavours to support students through the implementation of a Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program acknowledges students that take responsibility for, and are proactive in the development of their own learning.  We are happy to announce the provision of a number of scholarships for 2019. The scholarships are of $400 each and are categorised as Academic, Co-curricular Involvement, Community Spirit and Personal Endeavour.

Students interested in applying for a scholarship are invited to complete an application form which will be available from Friday 7th September from the Campus Office. All applications must be submitted to the Campus Office no later than Thursday 20th September. The Scholarship Selection Committee will then short list and interview suitable applicants. Recipients of the scholarships will be acknowledged on Awards Night later in the year. Recipients of 2018 Scholarships are not eligible to apply for next year’s scholarships.

Headstart Survey

The Headstart program is an initiative by the college to start next year’s academic program in the latter stages of the current year. Recently I asked parents, students and staff to complete a survey which asked questions about the effectiveness, timing and value of the Headstart Program. I wish to thank the 165 parents who filled in the survey along with a large number of staff and students. The college is planning the calendar for 2019 and the information that has been accumulated will be of great assistance in determining the length and the structure of the program for the years ahead.

PTSPM Survey

The college is also in the early stages of preparing a survey to go out to parents, students and staff about the current set up of the Parent Teacher Student Partnership Meetings. The survey will be available next week and I urge parents, once again, to get on board to have their opinions heard so that proper planning for next year can take place.

As the term races to a conclusion, I wish all students every success for the weeks ahead.
